KLAROLINE KLAROLINE KLAROLINE AND EVERYTHING INBETWEEN.

Okay, so after episode 4×13 of The Vampire Diaries I literally needed a few days to get over that “Klaroline” scene. Because i knew i wouldn’t be able to write this if I keep stopping to calm myself down throughout the process. I guess i just love “Klaroline” a little too much.

First off, let’s begin let’s begin by talking about the episode. I have to admit for the past few weeks I was getting a little bored with how the show was going lately, so coming into this episode i really wasn’t expecting much, having that said, I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed the episode. I think it was the change of scenery/location that caught my attention in the beginning, and then the characters they choose to include in this episode, I thought was well picked too. I mean, I’m not much of a Bonnie and Professor Shane fan but i can;t help but think that they need at leas one witch on the show…so i understand why they have to keep her around. I forgot how much I enjoyed having Rebekah on the screen (Her sassy attitude was the only interesting part of the ‘island’ scene) i’m starting to like her more and more. She’s a pretty great character, in my opinion. The way the writers try to show her personality underneath all the ‘Original vamp’ stuff isn’t too forced which is what I enjoy…it’s realistic- well, as realistic as you can get on a show about all things supernatural.

(Side note: My friend and I were talking about how we miss Lexxi. In our opinion she should’ve stayed around. We also thought Caroline would be the next ‘Lexxi’ figure to Stefan, but the writers haven’t broaden that friendship on screen yet…)

I have to admit I wasn’t a big fan of Caroline and Tyler in season 1 but somehow becoming a vampire and werewolf made them less annoying. They were growing on me and In the beginning of their relationship I really enjoyed their storyline. I thought it was great that they were falling in love together and I honestly thought they both needed eachother, which made it work. That was all in good until season 3 where they basically took out all their romance and all their character growth and gave us nothing but sex with them. It was hot sex but….it wasn’t the same. I mean, there was the whole Tyler breaking the sirebond for her but….i don’t know…They seemed more and more distant from each other (in my opinion) and i was losing interest in their relationship. Luckily at this point I was beginning like the idea of Klaroline more and more…

First of all, when I saw that first scene of Klaus curing Caroline after he told Tyler to bite her in the first place (3×11) The first thing I thought was, “You sneaky bastard, you”. I mean, as far as I could tell he only did that so he could “save” her.

Then, the Michaelsons’ Ball episode (3×14) came along and I have to admit I was excited about these two. His accent, his charm and the way he looks at her…. I also like the fact that Caroline isn’t afraid of him.

So, then there wasn’t a Klaroline scene for awhile, unless you count the scene where she’s all…

“I’m too smart to be seduced by you”

until the 20s dance episode (3×20) but that wasn’t much of a scene really, well, at least I didn’t think so. Though I will say Tyler looked better in that scene than Klaus. There was one thing that I picked up from that scene though…

“You mark my words. A small town boy, a small town life, it won’t be enough for you. ”

That was the moment I started to think about the difference between ‘Forwood’ and ‘Klaroline’ and the fact that Tyler and Caroline’s spark had died.

When season 4 came along I knew I shouldn’t get my hopes up about Klaroline happening, there was just too many complications, and there still is. Though, By this point I was in love with Klaus, yes he is evil. He kills people for his own amusement and them forces them to follow him and if you disagree with him he’ll kill either you or your loved ones, he’s somewhat of a child in that sense. I like the way the writers wrote this character Joseph Morgan potrays. They didn’t make him a ‘bad boy’ like Damon, because let’s face it, we can ALL see right through that (still not sure if that was intended or not. Stefan was a hotter ‘bad boy’ during his ‘rippah’ moment than Damon ever was) No, they did it right with the character of Klaus. When we first meet him he was just what the legends say, pure evil. As his character progressed on the show though, of course the writers needed to put more depth in him which was interesting because it wasn’t forced upon the audience, it’s not so cliche that it just makes you cringe. It’s not TRYING to make him seem like the victim, no, not at all. Audience still hate him but there’s still that understanding of why he became this monster.

The Klaus, Caroline, Tyler scenes of the episode (4×13) I was particularly focused on because let’s face it, Klaroline. In this episode I was a little annoyed at Tyler because he got cocky and I get it he has no more family but, don’t be cocky if you don’t have a plan. That’s what I like about Klaus, he’s smart. He always has a plan for everything. He thinks things through (not all the time) even though you don’t really see that in the way he acts and talks. I think he bit her because he got annoyed and was sure that Tyler would do anything to save Caroline’s life, including letting him out and becoming his follower again and if everything when the way he predicted he would’ve instantly fed Caroline his blood to save her. The twist was when Caroline asked to be taken out of that room. You could tell by the look on Klaus’ face he didn’t see that one coming, because his plan wasn’t really to kill her off…

When Tyler brought Caroline back into the room I think he would’ve saved her straight away if it wasn’t for his own stubbornness. He doesn’t want Tyler to win, but, then they started talking and something about Caroline just….

This is why I think Caroline and Klaus would be good together. Klaus brings out this strong. mature side of her. He can teach her things, broaden her mind. Caroline is good for him because she’s pure and innocent, which is something he lacks. She tries to see the good in him (even though it’s difficult). She’s trying to understand him.

But, I guess all we can do now is dream…So i’ll leave you with this to get you through the day…
